第9首，女低音咏叹调《传报好消息的锡安》。在宣告童女玛丽亚孕有耶稣的宣叙调之后，女低音唱出了温和旋律的咏叹调，具有欢乐的牧歌风。这首精妙的咏叹调在女低音的中音域像宣叙调般均衡地发展，在小提琴群伴奏下进行着。不久这个主题上升八度（女高音）之后，加入合唱部，然后在弦乐合奏上照例加入双簧管及低音管，但庞大的风琴却未加入行列。这种将主题上升、加入合唱的做法形象地把歌词中“攀登那峻岭高山…你要竭力扬声，不要惧怕…兴起照耀你的光来临，耶和华的荣耀已显现照耀你”所要表达的涵义诠释了出来。
