Chrissie Hynde
早年生活
海特出生于俄亥俄州的阿克伦，其父母双方职业分别是兼职秘书和黄页经理。她于当地的高中Firestone High School毕业，但她便声明自己对其高中生活没有兴趣，却对组合乐队感到较大的兴趣。
早年生涯
海特于当年曾是嬉皮士反文化、东方神秘主义和素食主义的崇拜者，当时她于肯特州立大学的艺术学校就读时曾加入名为Sat.Sun.Mat.的乐队，而其中成员更包括后期的Devo乐队主音Mark Mothersbaugh。
海特于当时并对英国音乐杂志NME感兴趣，后来当她赚取足够的金钱后她便于1973年由俄亥俄州移居到伦敦。而于伦敦，海特曾于当地的一间建筑公司工作8个月，其后她却因遇上著名摇滚乐记者Nick Kent而开始联同其为NME撰写乐评。
