彼得唱《我们已勉强踏入风中》(We strained into the Wind)。 于是大家开始唱《年老的乔出海捕鱼》(Old Joe has gone fishing)。

Britten: Peter Grimes, Op. 33 / Act 1: "Look, the Storm Cone!" - James Pease/Geraint Evans/Raymond Nilsson/Chorus of the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden/Orchestra of the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden/Benjamin Britten
Lyrics by:Montagu Slater/George Crabbe
Composed by:Benjamin Britten
Look the storm cone
The wind veers
In from the sea
At gale force
Look out for squalls
The wind veers
In from the sea
At gale force
Make your boat fast
Shutter your windows
And bring in all the nets
Now the flood tide
And the sea-horses
Will gallop over
The eroded coast
Now the flood tide
And the sea-horses
Will gallop over
The eroded coast
Flooding flooding
Our seasonal fears
Look look look the storm cone
The wind veers
A high tide coming
A high tide coming
A high tide coming
Will eat the land
A tide no breakwaters can withstand
A high tide coming
Will eat the land
Fasten your boats
The springtide's here
With a gale behind
Look the storm cone
The wind veers
In from the sea
At gale force
Is there much to fear
Only for the goods you're rich in
It won't drown your conscience
It might flood your kitchen
God has his ways which are not ours
His high tide swallows up the shores
Repent
And keep your wife upstairs
O Tide that waits for no man
Spare our coasts
O Tide that waits for no man
Spare our coasts
O Tide that waits for no man
Spare our coasts
