TXT Johnny Appleseed-Gene Autry 文本歌词

Down in the meadow there's an old apple tree
An old apple tree
As pretty as can be granny once told me many years ago
She saw it planted and she saw it grow
Down in the meadow by the ohio
Down in the meadow by the ohio
She said it was planted by a friend indeed
Who was known by all as johnny apple seed
Some men want money to have and to hold
To johnny an apple meant more than gold
Down in the meadow by the ohio
Down in the meadow by the ohio
Little johnny apple seed pioneer
Hero of the old northwest
Johnny chapman was his real name
He was born in the year seventeen and seventy five
And more than anything else in the world
He like to plant apple trees
That's why they call him johnny apple seed
And that's exactly what little johnny doing one day
When he was ten years old
He was planting an apple tree along side of the road
Near his home
When a man on a horse came riding along
He came from the east and was headed west
A big bony man with a bell like chest
A smile on his lips as he rode along
Waving his musket and singin' a song
I'm a tie yipee yay come a long with me
To the land beyond the allegheny
I'mma headin' west to build me a nest
Where lands are waitin' a plenty and free
Come a tie come a ti
Come a tie yipee yi
Come a long come a long
Come a long with me
Woahh
The rider pulled up his horse
And smiled down on little johnny
Kindly like
How 'bout you me lad
Have you a hankerin' to see what's to the side
Of allegheny mountains
Indeed I do Sir but but
But if I go who'll look after my little apple trees
Why joshua me lad
What's a few apple trees
When there's land land
Just akin' to be takin' to the side of the mountain
Miles and miles of it
Oh but what good is all that land Sir
If there are no apple trees are growin' on it
Hahahahaha
Hey if you ask me me lad
What good is apple trees
Why Sir there's nothing more beautiful than an apple tree
Ooh you don't's say now
Yes Sir and you can make most anything from apples
Ooh like what for instance
Why there are
Apples that are good to eat
Peepins' bowls and summer sweet
Apples that are good to sizzle
Apples that are fine and frizle
And apple pie and apple tart
Apple exactly warm my heart
Apple jelly spice and candy
Apple cider apple brandy
And lots more
Well now who would've thonk it
All just from apples
Oh but that's not all Sir
Why there's
Apple dumpling apple fritters
Apples good to feed the critters
Woah woah my lad I believe you
Did I do did I do
You know my lad I'm thinking
You should turn your eyes to the west
Plenty land for apple plantin' there
In the for long there be plenty miles a hankin'
For the taste of them
Think on it lad think on it
Little johnny apple seed did think on it
He thought of hardly anything else
For many a day and many a month
His eyes kept turning to the west
Where the blue lines of the allegheny mountains
Met the blue of the sky
Then he one day he made up his mind
Yes Sir I am goin' west
And I'm gonna plant the lord's little apples
All over the north west territory
And so he did
He filled a leather sack full of apple seeds
Then made his way through the wilderness
Over the allegheny mountains
And down into the plain below
Up and down the plain he goes
Planting trees until it snows
Even though his back is bent
Johnny smiles in the content
Thank you johnny yes indeed
Thank you johnny apple seeds
On went johnny deeper and deeper into the wilderness
An apple orchards like magic sprung wherever he went
One day he came across a cabin in a clearing
On the bank of the ohio river
He look down on a meadow below
What a lovely spot for an apple orchard
Down to the meadow he went
And started planting some apple seeds
A little girl who live in the cabin came down
To see what johnny was up to
What are you burying in the ground boy
Why I I'm burying a treasure my little miss
A treasure yes
There's a treasure to be found in the ground
In the ground
There's a treasure beyond measure
Which will bring you joy and pleasure
When the spring time comes around comes around comes around
Then on his way went johnny apple seed
And before long that little girl knew
That johnny apple seed had indeed
Burried a great treasure down in the meadow
By the ohio
Down in the meadow there's an old apple tree
As pretty as can be granny once told me many years ago
She saw it planted and she saw it grow
Down in the meadow by the ohio
Down in the meadow by the ohio
