Angst-filled Los Angeles-based indie rockers War Tapes craft volatile and brooding post-punk anthems in the vein of Joy Division, Echo & the Bunnymen, Interpol, and the Cure. The band, which consists of charismatic and theatrical frontman Neil Popkin, bassist Becca Popkin, guitarist Matt Bennett, and drummer William Mohler, has shared the stage with Smashing Pumpkins and the Bravery, and has put out a self-produced independent EP.
