背景资料

1963年离开学校之后，Phil Cordell加盟北伦敦乐队Steve Douglas和The Challengers作为一个吉他手。在此之后，Cordell组建了Tuesday's Children乐队并发行了些作品，1967年离开乐队单飞。他的首支单曲《Pumping The Water》发行于1969年。

1971年，用艺名Springwater发行了单曲《I Will Return》，在英国榜上排第5，瑞士榜上排第1，德国和荷兰榜上排前3。用这个名字，他发布了三首单曲以及1972年的首张专辑《Springwater》。

1973年用原名发布了单曲《Close To You》。之后他又发行了另一支单曲《Dan The Banjo Man》。

1977年，他以自己的名字发行了另一张专辑《Born Again》。70年代末发行了一些单曲，他再一次以艺名Springwater进行表演，1980年发行了两张单曲。

Cordell于2007年3月31日去世，留下了三个孩子。
