English death metal outfit Trigger the Bloodshed were formed in Bath in 2006 by guitarists Rob Purnell and Martyn Evans. Drummer Max Blunos and vocalist Charlie Holmes joined the following year and began honing the group's powerful sound, a brutal aural onslaught that echoes classic extreme metal acts like Napalm Death and Carcass. After garnering numerous accolades from the British press for its unforgiving live show, the band was approached by Metal Blade, who would go on to release Trigger the Bloodshed's electrifying debut, Purgation, in 2008.
