Causes

Causes is a Dutch-English indie-pop band from Utrecht, The Netherlands. The lead vocalist of the band is the English singer-songwriter Rubert Blackman who is best known for his debut album “The Lights Of Home”. Other members of Causes are Jan Schröder (Guitar), Robert Pronk (Bass) and Simon Boeing-Messing (Drums). Their debut single “Teach Me How To Dance With You” became a moderate success in the Dutch Singles Chart as it peaked at number 21. Currently Causes is signed to Benelux division of the international record label [PIAS].Members:Rupert Blackman - Vocals, guitars, keys. An Englishman, moved to The Netherlands in 2008. Studied music production in the UK. Was signed to PIAS and Universal after being spotted busking on the streets of Amsterdam. After a solo album, decided to form Causes.Jan Schröder - Plays electric guitar. Also studied at the HKU in Utrecht, Has played with lots of bands and artists over the years. Half French, half German, Born in The Hague.Robert Pronk - Plays bass and sings. Half Dutch, half Surinamese. Has played with many famous artists and bands in Holland. Steady as a rock. Studies engineering and snores like a freight train.Simon Boeing-Messing - Plays drums and sings. Studied Drums at he HKU in Utrecht. A somewhat colourful character. Can sleep anywhere.
