Polish Festival Orchestra

Polish Festival Orchestra

Polish Festival Orchestra was founded by Krystian Zimerman in October 1998. Between August and November 1999 Polish Festival Orchestra, with Krystian Zimerman as soloist and conductor, performed both of Frédéric Chopin's Piano Concertos in 39 major music centres of Europe and the US. The entire tour was a form of homage to the great Polish composer on the 150th anniversary of his death, in the Chopin Year proclaimed by UNESCO. In October 1999 the concert programme was made available on a Deutsche Grammophon compact disc.
