Peter Snipp

Born in London now resident of Bromley.Trained as an Opera Singer at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.He has appeared with Opera Factory, The Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Glyndebourne Festival Opera and Glyndebourne Touring Opera, Scottish Opera, Opera North, National Opera de Paris, New Israeli Opera. His principal roles have included Masetto ‘Don Giovanni’ with Opera North and New Israeli Opera. He created the title role in a joint National Youth Music Theatre and Royal Opera House production of Douglas Young’s ‘The Taylor of Gloucester’ The title role in Judith Weirs ‘The Vanishing Bridegroom’ for Scottish Opera (also seen in London and BBC Television). The title role in Eugene Onegin for Kentish Opera, Osmin in Mozart’s ‘Zaide’ Borilee in ‘Les Boreades’ for The City of Birmingham Touring Opera. The English Clerk in ‘Death in Venice’ for Glyndebourne Festival Opera. Malatesta in ‘Don Pasquale’ for English National Opera. Fiorello ‘The Barber of Seville’ ,also for Chandos Records, also for English National Opera. Maximilian in Berstein’s ‘Candide” Batignano Festival, Italy Title role in Tchaikovsky’s ‘Mazeppa’ for University College Opera.In 1994 he joined English National Opera as a principal artist where his roles included Harlequin ‘Ariadne auf Naxos’ Guglielmo ‘Cosi fan Tutte’, Marullo ‘Rigoletto’ Papageno ‘Magic Flute’ Figaro ‘Le Nozze di Figaro’ Henry ‘The fairy Queen’. Flemish Opera debut in Antwerp with Patroclus in ‘King Priam’ Opera National de Paris debut at the Bastille with Marullo in Verdi’s, ‘Rigoletto’ Young Vic’s Production of Jonathan Dove’s ‘Tobias and The Angel’
