Had been interested in music ever since his studies in Hamburg. He had his great breakthrough in the mid 70th with the rock group Lake one of which was successful not only in Europe, but also in the US. This was followed by a year in Los Angeles where he had been producer for several American musicians. Back in Germany he produced besides others Hannes Wader and Udo Lindenberg. Later he began mainly to work as a composer and since 1991 he concentrates on film music.
