Peter Gülke
从艺历程
In 1952 he graduated from the Weimar Academy of Music and the Universities of Jena and Leipzig, where he studied at the University of Leipzig (Germany), where he studied law (violoncello, musicology, literature, and German literature). In 1958 he received his doctorate in Leipzig from Heinrich Besseler.
From 1959 to 1964 he was a repetitor, dramaturge and music director at the Rudolstadt theater, from 1964 to 1965 musical director at the Altmark theater in Stendal, from 1966 to 1969 chief conductor at the Hans Otto theater in Potsdam and from 1972 to 1976 chief conductor at the Stralsund theater. From 1976 to 1981 he was the Kapellmeister of the Staatsoper Dresden, lecturer at the Dresden Music Academy and head of the university orchestra. In 1980, he became a guest professor at Harvard. Between 1981 and 1983, he was Director General Music Director of the Staatskapelle Weimar at the German Nationaltheater Weimar.
After a guest performance in Hamburg in 1983, Gülke stayed in the Federal Republic of Germany, where he was a year later at the TU Berlin. In 1985, he had a guest professor in Bochum. From 1986 to 1996 he served as general music director of the city of Wuppertal and became a member of the German Academy of Language and Literature in Darmstadt in 1994. In 1998 he received the Bavarian Literary Prize for scientific representations of literary rank.
From 1996 to 2000 Gülke was professor for conducting at the State College of Music Freiburg and from 1999 to 2002 Professor of Musicology at the University of Basel. From June 2011 to June 2014 Peter Gülke was President of the Saxon Academy of Arts.
Since 2015, Peter Gülke has been chief conductor of the Brandenburg Symphoniker.
