Military Wives
Military Wives are a British choir formed by Gareth Malone through the fourth series of the BBC TV series The Choir. Malone formed the choir at two British Military bases in Devon (Chivenor Barracks (a tri service base) and Royal Citadel, Plymouth). He sought to enlist voices for an all-women choir – the wives and girlfriends of military personnel deployed to Afghanistan. The climax of the television series was the performance of the Military Wives at The Royal British Legion's Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall on 12 November 2011.Their debut single, "Wherever You Are" was released on 19 December 2011 and became the 2011 UK Singles Chart Christmas number one.
