Battleships has four members – Jordan, Jonathan, Dan and Nato. Jordan and Jonathan (who have been friends since primary school) had always written music and been in bands together – some good, most bad. Jonathan was also friends with Dan, and together, they decided to move from Queensland’s Sunshine Coast to Sydney. However, even though distance had separated them, Jordan and Jonathan were still writing songs together over Skype… and, as Dan had the necessary equipment needed to record music, Jonathan and Dan began recording these songs and working on developing a sound. Still, as great as technology is, Jonathan and Dan realised that everyone needs to be in the same place to play the songs. After much coercing, Jonathan finally convinced Jordan to venture to Sydney as well. They then sourced friend and guitarist Nato Hannaford to complete the line-up, and thus Battleships was formed.
