PFL

PFL

PFL (Pre Fade Listening) was formed in 2003 by producer Felix Wolter ( TVS, Chin Chillaz, Dubvisionist ), based on the idea of not forming a band in the traditional sense, but to have a platform where he could work song-dependant with a variety of different singers.Entitled 'Blue Dub Session Pt.1', PFL's first album was released end of 2003 on Elektrolux and very well received by critics and listeners alike. With several tracks of the album licensed for compilations, featured on radio programs and extensively used in the German cult-tv-night-show Spacenight, the name PFL became established as one of the finest in Downtempo-Electronica.In 2006, after a break due to other project / band involvements, Wolter re-booted PFL. Halfway through the process of writing, collecting and recording material for the follow up to 'Blue Dub Sessions Pt.1' he teamed up with London-based guitarist / programmer Jake Paland and together they now make up the core of PFL.In the truest sense PFL could be called a global project not just with Wolter and Paland living in different countries and fusing their studios together over the internet, but also because of their choice in guest-vocalists who are spread out over all corners of the planet. The sound of PFL is eclectic, but still entirely accessible. It takes the listener on an adventurous trip through lush soundscapes surrounded by spoken word, catchy melodies layered by walls of guitars and deep dark atmospheres embedded in filtered beats...resulting in a very own, modern style of Electronica...And with Wolter coming from a background in Reggae, he'd always been fascinated by that genre's version culture. PFL make full use of that technique by putting hooks, basslines and samples originating from other projects and existing tracks into new context....taking the remix idea to a different level.'Something To Say' is the latest album by PFL (released July 2007 on MoonRay°Records) and amongst a variety of guests it features the vocals of Julia Messenger, Valeska Jakobowicz and Betty La Gachette.
