Leroy Carr
生活与生涯
Carr出生于田纳西州的纳什维尔，但成长于印第安纳州印第安纳波利斯。虽然他的录音生涯因为早逝而中断，然而Carr留下了大量的作品。他的一些最著名的歌曲包括《Blues Before Sunrise》(1932年),《Midnight Hour Blues》(1932年)和《Hurry Down Sunshine》(1934年)。他与吉他手Scrapper Blackwell是长期的合作伙伴。他的Light Bluesy钢琴融合了Blackwell的旋律爵士吉他，吸引了复杂的黑人听众。Carr的唱腔风格由蓝调的唱法转向Urban Sophistication，受T-Bone Walker,Charles Brown,Amos Milburn,Jimmy Witherspoon,Ray Charles等歌手的影响。
Count Basie和Jimmy Rushing使用了一些Carr的歌曲，Basie的乐队显示出受Carr的钢琴的风格的影响。
他的音乐被其他艺人翻唱如Robert Johnson,Ray Charles,Big Bill Broonzy,Moon Mullican,Champion Jack Dupree,Lonnie Donegan,Long John Baldry,Memphis Slim,Barrelhouse Chuck和Eric Clapton。
Carr是个酒鬼，三十岁生日后不久因肾炎去世。
