EILEEN HUNTER

Eileen Hunter is from Aberdeen. She was brought up in a musical family. Her grandfather (Charlie) father (Alastair) and brother (Russell) are well known figures in the Scottish traditional music scene. Eileen is classically trained in flute, piano and vocals with a B.Ed.Mus (Hons) and LGSM performers diploma. Amongst others Eileen is now a regular at London’s iconic 606 Jazz Club. She has also performed at the Stables, Regents Park Open Air Theatre, The Queen Elizabeth Hall with the Phoenix Dance Company as the featured vocalist, she was the soloist for Savoy Centenary Celebration of Noel Coward, Night Of A 1000 Voices, and was the featured vocalist at The Royal Albert Hall and supported Steve Brookstein on his UK Tour in 2006. Eileen first signed a development deal with Jive Records in 2003 just before the label was acquired by BMG. In 2004 she began recording an album, which was put on hold while her husband, Steve Brookstein, went on his X Factor journey. Together they started again writing and recording Eileen's album in 2006. "Life just get's in the way." Is how Eileen describes the reason for the length of time it's taken to deliver this wonderful piece of work. The album was finished in 2009 and was sent to Jazz Fm to see if would play it. Not only did they play it - they signed it! This album is fantastic! Eileen not only provides an inspiring vocal performance but she is an amazing musician too! ‘I miss the sky’ and ‘Black coffee’ are the two stand out tracks for me, and the short but totally amazing ‘My baby just cares for me is a real masterpiece’.
