Gerard Willems AM (born 1946 as Gerardus Maria Willems)[1] is a Dutch-born Australian classical pianist and teacher. He was the first Dutch and first Australian pianist to record the complete series of 32 piano sonatas, 5 piano concertos and the Diabelli Variations by Ludwig van Beethoven, and is the only pianist to do so using a Stuart & Sons piano.[2] This series of recordings constitutes the largest classical music recording project ever undertaken in Australia,[3] and Willems became the best selling classical artist in Australia's recording history.ς.
