它是以大名鼎鼎的民谣《tom dooley》为故事背景的。很感伤的一个故事，浪子dooley从南北战争的硝烟下解甲归乡，相识了嫁做人妇劳拉·福斯特，之后，两人不出意外的相爱了～这段隐秘的恋情即便在新大陆，依然是禁忌。终于，1866年春季的一个清晨，dooley与劳拉私奔了。然而劳拉失踪了，而dooley逃到了田纳西。长时间的搜寻之后，被谋杀的劳拉·福斯特的尸体找到了。 在田纳西，dooley受到追捕，遭到拘留，并最终被指控“谋杀了劳拉·福斯特”。在公开审讯并确认有罪之后，dooley被判处死刑，接着被绞死在北卡罗莱纳州的斯德特斯威尔的大树下
看了饥饿游戏3，印象最深刻的就是这一段，整个人都备震惊了，这首歌对自由的渴望，不惜一切…………
初听是震惊的，尤其是在电影的背景下。希望总有那么一首歌，在平凡的生活中燃起心中的火🔥
原来看到新闻想到这首歌的不止我一个 突然有点想哭
我只想说真心好听有味道，好暗黑好喜欢，但是大半夜听这个我好害怕！！！😱
听一次就再难忘却的歌。平淡语气中没有怒吼的坚定。不用声音洪亮来壮声势，不用旋律激昂来表现气势。歌就是歌，不同的只是唱歌的人。悲壮且从容，淡然且无畏，绝望境地下也比谁都相信光明。
一晚上好像都有人在我耳朵边唱这首歌，詹妮弗劳伦斯真的勾魂。
饥饿游戏三部中，最难忘的就是这首女主和人民一起唱的歌了，不仅是视觉上，听觉上的震撼，更是心灵的洗礼。
这首歌和这部电影告诉我们要团结，还有，如果有这样的总统我们要把他赶出这个国家，这个国家是我们的不是他一个人的！
看了这部电影就这首歌最让我感动,这首歌真心好听
