这首歌是一首翻唱改编歌曲，原曲诞生于1961，法国歌手Jacques Brel的作品，原名叫做Le Moribond（临终的人）。歌曲的内容大致描述一个罹患癌症、不久于人世的男子，在面临死亡的时候，对父亲、妻子以及挚友的依依难舍。没想到西城男孩将它画风一转，告诉留下的人们，人生还是充满阳光与希望的。

今年四川卷英语高考主题是“the season you best like”，当我看到之后第一想到这首歌，作文题目也是“season in the sun”，心中也涌动着一股对西域的怀恋
初中和好朋友分别去了不同中学，还记得当时她在信里写了这首歌第一句给我“goodbye to you my truth friend"然后我去听了这首歌，非常喜欢。那时候的友谊多么单纯，一句简单的话写在纸上却印上了心里，就像这首歌般隽永。
这首歌是我们高中英语歌曲表演时我选择的曲目。当时把歌词背了又背，唱到快吐。现在听到这首歌回忆起的都是当时纯纯的美好，那些青涩稚嫩的脸庞，想想特别温馨。西城男孩就是那些年我的暖男。
