《易》曰：履霜始凝，训致其道，而至于坚冰。《礼记》曰：火之於人也，尊而不亲，出内既观於天象。自古以来，冰火乃不相容，由中国当代著名作曲家、金钟奖和“上海之春”国际作曲比赛第一名方岽清选择以“冰·火”为主题，通过奇妙的音响对晶莹剔透、理性孤傲的坚冰，如同血液一般鲜红的熊熊烈焰之间的刻画、对比、碰撞、溶合，从而达到冰与火在艺术上对立而又统一的聆听境界。

《冰与火》是月亮于2016年与上海爱乐乐团世界首演的中国当代著名作曲家、金钟奖和“上海之春”国际作曲比赛第一名方岽清箜篌协奏曲《冰与火》的室内乐版，共两个乐章《冰之舞》与《火之舞》。由八把大提琴和打击乐组成丰厚的声部，衬托箜篌的泠泠清韵，展现出冰清玉洁、高贵纯净，虽寒冰彻骨但意志不改的寂静尊特质。

The Book of Changes states: “Treading on frost, the ice begins to form; follow its path to unyielding solidity.” The Book of Rites observes: “Fire commands reverence but not intimacy; its essence mirrors celestial phenomena.” Since antiquity, ice and fire have stood as opposing forces. The celebrated contemporary Chinese composer, winner of both the Golden Bell Award (China’s highest music composition honor) and First Prize at the Shanghai Spring International Composition Competition Dongqing Fang chose this duality as his theme, crafting an aural representation of crystalline rationality and blood-red passion through contrasting sonic textures - depicting their conflict, juxtaposition, and ultimate fusion to achieve an artistic unity of opposites.

Ice and Fire, originally premiered in 2016 by Lucina Yue with the Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra as a konghou concerto, appears here in its chamber version with two movements: Dance of Ice and Dance of Fire. Eight cellos and percussion provide rich harmonic foundations against the konghou’s shimmering tones, embodying the work’s core paradox: transcendent purity forged through unrelenting tension - where glacial resolve meets unquenchable flame.
